Search Engine Optimization
Technical, on-page and local SEO that earns rankings for the searches your customers make.
Explore the serviceWhen someone searches 'plumber near me' or 'best restaurant in Calgary', Google decides in milliseconds which businesses to show — in the map pack, and in the organic results below it. Local SEO is the work of earning those spots. Here's the checklist we run for local clients, in the order that usually pays off fastest.
Your Google Business Profile is the single biggest factor in map results. Claim it, verify it, and complete every field: exact categories, services, hours, service area, photos, and a description written for customers rather than keyword-stuffing. Incomplete profiles lose to complete ones.
Google cross-references your business details across the web. Your name, address and phone number should be identical on your website, Google profile, social accounts and directory listings. Inconsistencies erode trust in your data.
Review quantity, recency and rating all influence local rankings, and they influence humans even more. Build a simple habit: ask happy customers at the natural moment, make it a one-tap link, and reply to every review — including the bad ones, professionally.
One 'Services' page can't rank for a dozen different searches. Give each major service its own page, and if you serve multiple cities or regions, build genuinely useful pages for each — real local detail, not the same paragraph with the city name swapped.
Your city and service area should appear naturally in your homepage content, contact page, footer and about page. An embedded map on the contact page helps both users and search engines.
Mentions and links from local sources — chambers of commerce, local news, community sponsorships, industry directories — tell Google you're a real business embedded in a real place. A few genuine local links beat dozens of spammy ones.
Profile and consistency fixes can move map rankings within weeks; content and authority building typically shows over three to six months. The compounding is the point — unlike ads, the visibility you earn keeps working.
Local SEO isn't a trick. It's making it unambiguously clear — to Google and to humans — what you do, where you do it, and why people trust you.
